Born on June 30, 1954 in the village of Mahala, the district of Nouasulita, the Chernautsi region, Ukraine;

Professional experience:

  • 1976–1977 — senior engineer of UTM;
  • 1977–1984 — section chief, second secretary, secretary of the Frunze District Committee, City Committee, Central Committee of ULCT Moldova;
  • 1984–1988 — first secretary of the ULCTM Central Committee;
  • 1988–1991 — candidate for a doctor’s degree, the Moscow-based Academy of Social Sciences;
  • 1991–1999 — director-general of the Chisinau-based stock society Agroconstructia;
  • 1999–2002 — administrator of ZAL Expo-Business-Chisinau;
