- 1989–1990 — senior adviser for the Legal Directorate of Moldovan Parliament;
- 1990–1997 — chief of the Legal Directorate of the Moldovan Parliament Apparatus;
- 1997–1999 — adviser of Moldovan President for legal affairs, relations with Parliament and law institutions;
- From March to May 1998 — member of Moldovan Parliament;
- 1999–2001 — chief of the Cabinet of Moldovan President, senior adviser for Moldovan President;
- From 2002 to present — chairman of the Centrist Union of Moldova;
- 2001–2005 — member of Moldovan Parliament;
