The Civic Coalition for Free and Fair Elections “Coalition 2007”

Coalition 2007
Coalition 2007 is a voluntary union of non-governmental organizations from the Republic of Moldova, established with the goal to monitor the 2007 local elections and with the aim to undertake the following main actions: short and long term observation of the election campaign, monitoring of the electoral process media coverage, civic and electoral education for voters and electoral public servants.

Coalition 2007 was launched at the initiative of seven non-governmental organizations, as follows:

The seven founding members created the Coalition Council — Coalition 2007’s governing body.

The Coalition is open for new members — representatives of non-governmental organizations from Moldova that will sign the Adobe PDFCharter for Free and Fair Elections and follow the principles of Adobe PDFCoalition’s Regulation. They are welcome to contact the Secretary in order to apply for membership. The Central Election Commission, international organizations supporting the democratic elections process and independent media outlets both from Moldova and abroad are welcome to participate as observers.

The League for Defence of Human Rights, the Association of Independent Press and the National Youth Council of Moldova are elected by the Council as members of the Executive Committee, which is in charge of Coalition’s current activities.

The Council appointed Mihai Godea, Executive Director of CONTACT Centre, as Secretary of the Coalition 2007.
