- Registration of first contestants in the capital city
- Allocation of financial resources for elections
- Chisinau Electoral District Council (CEDC) has registered the first 10 candidates to the Chisinau mayor office, as follows:
- Veaceslav Iordan, Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova;
- Ion Mereuta, Humanist Party of Moldova;
- Leonid Bujor, “Our Moldova” Alliance;
- Vladimir Filat, Democratic Party of Moldova;
- Dorin Chirtoaca, Liberal Party;
- Zinaida Zorin, Conservative Party;
- Alexandru Corduneanu, Christian Democratic People’s Party;
- Valentin Crilov, “Patria-Rodina-Ravnopravie” Electoral Bloc;
- Eduard Musuc, Social Democratic Party of Moldova;
- Corneliu Ciurea, Social Liberal Party.
At the same sitting the lists of candidates for the Chisinau Municipal Council seats of the same forces, but “Patria-Rodina-Ravnopravie” Electoral Bloc, were registered. CEDC did not yet examine the file of Vitalia Pavlicenco, candidate for the Chisinau mayor office from the side of National Liberal Party.
- Chisinau mayoralty has decided to allocate from the reserve fund 344 thousands lei for the organisation and running of general local elections in Chisinau. According to the mayoralty representatives, the fund will be used for repairing the polling stations, sanitation of the adjacent territory, procurement of flags…". Earlier, Central Electoral Commission has approved the amount of expenses worth 33.9 millions lei to be spent on June 2007 general local elections. A 15.4 millions lei deficit is to be covered by the Government.
