• On May 3, 2007, at 12.00 pm, the period designated to the submission of all necessary documents for the registration of electoral contestants came to an end. Until that time, the Chisinau electoral district council has received other files of documents necessary for the registration of candidates to the Chisinau general mayor office:
  • Mihai Petrache, Centrist Union of Moldova (the party has proposed as well as the list with candidates to the Chisinau Municipal Council seats);
  • Mihai Roscovan, independent candidate;
  • Ion Mamaliga, independent candidate.

• According to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), more than 50 radio and TV stations have shown willingness to cover the electoral campaign for the general local elections. More than a half of them have expressed also their intention to organize electoral debates. According to the CEC demands, the electoral ads and debates are to be accompanied by a motivational and civic education spot.
