- Chisinau electoral district council has registered 3 other candidates to the Chisinau Mayor office:
- Dumitru Braghis, Party of Social Democracy
- Ilie Bujenita, “Green Alliance” Ecologist Party of Moldova
- Petru Bodarev, independent candidate.
- The Chief of state Vladimir Voronin, Speaker of the Parliament Marian Lupu, Prime-minister Vasile Tarlev, director of the state own “Calea Ferata (Railways)” enterprise Miron Gagauz and other officials have participated at the launch of PCRM electoral program for local elections in Chisinau Municipality. Veaceslav Iordan, PCRM candidate to the Chisinau Mayor office, has stated that the application of the General Urban Development Plan of Chisinau, approved for a 25 years period, serves as a basis for his electoral program. In his speech of support for Veaceslav Iordan, the President of Moldova has mentioned that “in the last 15 years the capital did not have a better manager, who would solve the problems of Chisinau inhabitants” and that he is confident that Iordan will contribute to the city development and transformation into a true European capital (after Moldpres).
- The deputy president of the Coordination Council of Audiovisual (CCA), Ludmila Vasilache, has informed that 63 broadcasting stations had confirmed that they will cover the election campaign in the local public administration bodies. 29 stations among these tv and radio stations will provide time frames for electoral debates. Among these there are 5 stations that cover the entire territory of the county: “Radio Moldova” and “Moldova 1” public stations; “Pro TV”, “Euro TV”, “DTV” TV private stations. The mentioned stations will provide at least 90 minutes a day for electoral debates. The programs related with electoral matters will be posted under the “2007 Elections” heading. (after Basa-press).
