• Chisinau electoral district council has registered the last three candidates to run for Chisinau mayor office:
  • Mihai Petrache, Centrist Union of Moldova;
  • Valentina Tapis, Party of Law and Justice;
  • Mihai Roscovan, independent candidate.

  For the Chisinau Municipal Council seats are competing 34 electoral contestants (19 parties and 15 independent candidates).

• From the start of the election campaign the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has received over 30 appeals. Most of them have been already solved out by CEC. According to CEC representatives, the appeals are referring to the registration procedure, to randomly drawn procedure to set the contestants order in ballot papers, to self-suspension from the offices of the persons involved into the electoral campaign, etc.

• According to the Ministry of Interior Affairs, several cases of posting on electoral materials in an inappropriate way have been found out in Chisinau. As a consequence, 5 persons have been sanctioned. At the same time, the unofficial data reveals that the real number of persons who are posting on electoral materials in inadequate places (pillars, trees, stations for public transport, etc.) is much bigger.
