- CEDC finished registration of candidates
- CEDC did not register the EAM list
- CDPP appeal on a Chisinau Mayoralty decision
- Chisinau electoral district council (CEDC) has revealed the final list of electoral contestants running for Chisinau Municipal elective seats. According to the list, 18 political organizations and 13 independent candidates are involved into the electoral competition. Independent candidates to the Chisinau Municipal Council seats are, as follows: Vladimir Garstea, Vasile Ceban, Ecaterina Stratan, Anatoli Soloviov, Tudor Deliu, Vladimir Ianev, Simion Boran, Ion Popa, Iurie Spanu, Serghei Dubalari, Iurie Timofte, Venera Gasparean and Ion Mamaliga. CEDC did not register two other candidates, due to some irregularities in the subscription lists.
- CEDC has refused to register the list of candidates to the Chisinau Municipal Council seats of the “European Action” Movement (EAM), arguing that this party was registered by the Ministry of Justice only on April 12, 2007, while the election campaign had already started at that time.
- CEC has examined the Christian Democratic People’s Party (CDPP) appeal on a Chisinau Mayoralty decision that concerns electoral events. The very essence of the appeal is that CDPP informed local authorities some time ago, on March 23, about its intention to organize two electoral events on 31 May and June 1. On April 27 the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova (PCRM) has informed local authorities about its intention to organize on June 1 its own electoral event. On May 5, at an event held to reveal the electoral program of the PCRM candidate, Veaceslav Iordan invited his proponents, in the head of state presence, to come again on June 1 for a show with Sofia Rotaru. CDPP did not accept to share in the same day the square with the PCRM, invoking the Law on assemblies and the European Convention on Human Rights. After some clarifications, CEC has decided to recommend to Chisinau Municipality to come back to its decision and to offer equal conditions to contestants, examining the official demands to organize electoral events according to the order of registration of these demands.
