• As many MPs are involved into the election campaign, the Parliament will be on holidays until local general elections of June 3. Five members of the Parliament are competing to the mayor offices in Chisinau and other places, while some other MPs are seeking to be elected as local counsellors.

• On May 18, 2007, the Coalition-2007, at the initiative of the Eurasia Representative Office in Moldova, has organised a seminar. At the event have participated representatives of political parties, candidates to the Chisinau mayor general office or their representatives, public servants from CEC, representatives of international organisations, media institutions, and NGOs interested in ensuring free and fair local elections. The main findings of the monitoring activity of the electoral process and mass media coverage of the current election campaign have been presented at the event. The seminar aimed at providing an appropriate framework for discussions between the main actors involved into the electoral process, so that to identify the drawbacks at this stage of the election campaign and solutions that are needed to turn them down.
