According to the municipal administration officials, all polling stations from Chisinau are prepared for local elections. On May 14, all 285 polling stations from Chisinau were opened and, in the line with the Electoral Code requirements, the electoral rolls were posted 20 days before the Election Day. The local authorities and electoral bureaus members started to send invitations to voters. A representative of the local public administration Division has specified that the municipality looks over the situation with electoral posters, and cooperates in this respect with political parties and candidates involved into the electoral campaign.
CCA has warned also “Moldova 1” and “NIT” TV stations for lack of pluralism and impartiality in their news programs. The president of the “Teleradio-Moldova” Company rejected the accusations, qualifying the critics as “interference in the Company’s affairs”.
CEC has warned Telenesti local administration over the misuse of public funds with en electoral purpose. The notification over this phenomenon has been made by the Social Liberal Party, which revealed that on May 13, at a rayonal working sitting with the participation of the speaker Marian Lupu, elements of electoral propaganda were admitted in the favour of the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova (PCRM). The representatives of the parties in question had different views on the Speaker’s visit to Telenesti. CEC has admitted the notification, with photos that prove the presence of the PCRM electoral contestant at the sitting, near the Speaker Marian Lupu, and a receipt proving that Telenesti Rayonal Council paid the rent for the premise of sitting.
