Members of the European Parliament (EP) have told the audience at a press conference that the election campaign legitimacy will be proved on Election Day and that concerns from the previous election campaigns are valid. At the same time, Marianne Mikko, co-chair of the EU-Moldova Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, has forecast that the most possible conclusion of the electoral observers would be that elections are free and fair, but not entirely. According to mass media, European MPs could not understand the ruling party representatives’ refusal to participate in electoral debates, as such approaches in countries with strong democratic traditions would be highly condemned by the public. MPs have also mentioned that organization of elections by the Central Electoral Commission is satisfactory and was fair in examining of appeals. (after Basa-press)
