• On December 6, Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Gagauzia has announced the official results of elections for the Governor (Bashkan) post of Gagauzia, held on December 3, 2006. According to CEC of Gagauzia, 57 687 voters have participated in elections, and the repartition of votes is, as follows:
  • Gheorghe Tabunscic — 13 745 votes (24.14%);
  • Nicolai Dudoglo — 17 880 votes (31.40%);
  • Alexandr Stoianoglo — 6 025 votes (10.58%);
  • Mihail Formuzal — 19 297 votes (33.89%).

  740 of ballot papers out of all votes expressed have been declared invalid.

  According to the electoral law, the first two candidates who obtained the highest scores — Mihail Formuzal and Nicolai Dudoglo — are to compete in the second round of elections, which will take place on December 17, 2006. (After Moldpres)
