• The Central Electoral Commission of Gagauzia held a sitting on February 18 and examined and approved the concept and regulation on coverage of the electoral campaign by the public company “GRT”. Also, the electoral body approved the model of the ballot paper for the election of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia.

• According to the Gagauz CEC chairperson, the CEC received 31 applications for registration of candidates on February 11–14. It accepted applications until February 14 and the registration process will be over on February 21. Overall, the CEC of Gagauzia has received applications for the registration of 160 candidates, with 80 candidates representing parties and another 80 being independents. Most of candidates — 69 persons — are from the district of Comrat, 63 from the district of Ceadir-Lunga, and another 28 from the district of Vulcanesti.
