• On March 3 the Gagauz Autonomy was visited by USA Ambassador to Moldova Michel Kirby. The scope of the Ambassador’s visit was to get informed about the preparatory measures for legislative elections in the region. Ambassador Kirby expressed the hope that election would be free and fair, mentioning that 8 American observers will monitor the election process on the elections day. During his stay in Comrat Mr. Ambassador met the region’s Governor, the chairman of the Popular Assembly, the mayor of Comrat city and the representatives of Gagauz NGOs.
